2011 – TK9 WORKSHOPS and LECTURES

TK9 CONDUCTS ITS FIRST CLASS WITH GALLUP K9 UNIT / APRIL OF 2011

TK9 conducts its first full 5 day class with Gallup K9 Unit.  After evaluating the unit and working out administrative issues we were able to start off the first of many classes.  TK9 is looking forward to advancing this fine unit.  We were off to a great start following this class.  Much thanks to Sergeant Edwin Yazzie for organizing and making this a reality.                                                             2011.04.Gallup

TK9 WAS REQUESTED TO LECTURE AND JUDGE AT THIS YEARS AMERICAN WORKING DOG TRIALS AND CONFERENCE IN AUGUST OF 2011

Tactical K9 CEO (Doug Roller) has known Kenny Licklider since the early 90’s.  During his time as an LAPD Assistant and current head trainer he has selected many fine canines from VLK.  It was a pleasure to be asked to instruct at judge at this great VLK event.  Handlers from all over the world attended and participated in the challenging event. Brian Wulwebber is in the below photo – a great handler and person – he actually won the event hands down…

TK9 CONDUCTS SECOND 5 DAY BASIC CLASS FOR THE GALLUP PD K9 UNIT SEPTEMBER OF 2011

TK9 conducted its second full 5 day classes for this fine unit.  Basic and advanced E-collar use as well as off lead search work were instructed.  Classroom lectures on perimeter containment tactics as well as risk management issues were discussed.

TK9 CONDUCTS 5 DAY E-COLLAR WORKSHOP FOR SEVERAL SAN DIEGO PD K9 UNITS OCTOBER OF 2011

TK9 conducted a 5-day E-collar course for several surrounding San Diego K9 Units.  Including but not limited too Police and Sherrifs Units, Chula Vista, California Highway Patrol, to name a few.  The course was very well recieved and a special thanks to Pete and Hollie Stevens for coordinating this event.

TK9 CONDUCTS 5 – DAY E-COLLAR WORKSHOP FOR SOUTHBEND K9                  NOVEMBER 0F 2011

TK9 was requested by the Southbend K9 Unit to conduct an introduction class on the proper use of the collar.  In a short 5 days we were able to have all teams working off lead and on their way to off lead search tactics.  A great group of dedicated teams and great leadership.  Best of luck to Southbend K9 Unit.

2010 – TK9 WORKSHOPS and LECTURES

TK9 INSTRUCTS AT THE LACPCA CONFERENCE – SEPTEMBER OF 2010

TK9 (instructor Doug Roller) instruct at the Los Angeles County Police Canine Association.  With many other instructors attending we were focused of off-leash control and proper E-collar use.  We worked on problems solving and balancing the teams.

TK9 CONDUCTS 4 DAY WORKSHOP FOR DAD DAC K9 ASSOCIATION – OCTOBER 6TH THRU 9TH, 2010

TK9 conducted a 4-day conference in Gainesville Indiana for this fine organization.  The first day consisted of lecture and PP presentations on related K9 tactics (including off-leash instruction).  The remainder days were all hands on and problem solving.  Instruction mostly consisted of balancing the teams and canines.  CEO Doug Roller and Mike Goosby instructed.  Fixed outing issues and worked on direction and control.  Very fine officers and dedicated to the cause.

TK9 CONTRACTS WITH THE CITY OF GALLUP – MAY 24TH THRU 28TH, 2010

TK9 contracts with the Gallup Police Department to review conduct all aspects of K9 training.  TK9 reviewed all policies and K9 teams.  K9 teams were reviewed and some were replaced.  It was agreed upon for TK9 to become the unit trainer.  TK9 is looking forward to a long and lasting relationship with this fine unit.

TK9 CONDUCTS 3-DAY WORKSHOP FOR THE ITOA IN JUNE OF 2010

On June 7,8,9, 2010, Tactical K9 conducted a multi agency workshop for the Illinois Tactical Officers Association.  The workshop had in excess of 75 officers from numerous branches of law enforcement throughout the area.  It consisted of a one day lecture on Command Post Operations, Perimeter Containments and Off Leash Search Tactics.  The remainder was hands on field scenarios.  We would like to thanks the ITOA for the privilege to instruct.

TK9 WILL BE INSTRUCTING IN SAO PAULO BRAZIL – APRIL 15TH THRU 17TH, 2016

Once again Tactical K9 and CEO Doug Roller will be conducting a 2 day seminar in Sao Paulo Brazil for Dog Masters Adestramento e Cursos. This will be the 3rd visit and seminar given in as many years. Much thanks goes out to Allesandro Pellitti for making this event a reality. We are looking forward for this great opportunity to share knowledge and ideas to our neighbors. The first day will include a Power Point lecture followed by hands on E-Collar Introduction.
