Tactical K9 contracted last year with the Richmond Police Department to conduct all mainteance training.  Since that time the partnership has worked out very well.  All teams have progressed substantially and we are moving forward to very advanced work.  This K9 Unit consist of well seasoned vets.  They are a very active and busy unit.  The area of Richmond is one of high crime and the need for locked on teams is crucial.  We worked on search tactics, live gun firework and muzzle training (deployments from the vehicle).

TK9 TO CONDUCTS A 5 DAY E-COLLAR WORKSHOP FOR THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL

CHP Group Photo.2017

TK9 conducted a 5 day E-Collar Workshop for the California Highway at their main training location (the Sacramento Police Academy).  The class was full with ten working K9 teams (not all in photo) from around the state.  Some of the teams had already been exposed to some collar work.  This collar work was introduced by one their trainers Sergeant Jarrod Page.  TK9 would like to throw a shout out to Sergeant Page for the outstanding job he did in correctly pairing some of these teams with the E-collar.  This made the class advance quicker then normal.  We were able to complete advance search work on the last day of training.  The class was well received.  On another note TK9 is in contract negotiations with the CHP in possibily conducting a Patrol Class for new K9 teams sometime during the spring of 2018.  We are hoping this works out.
